Stained Glass Confessional: Stanzas, Strummers & Strange Stories
A Literary & Music Series in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

The first evening of Stained Glass Confessional took place on November 3, 2008.  Hosted by professional raconteur James Kass and curated by poet and Universe, Disturbed author Janice Brabaw, SGC (and its spin-off series, An Echo, A Stain) have welcomed nearly forty performers to their stage at Stain Bar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn since its inception.   The series has proven to be so popular that in April 2009, Tangled Up In Blue Productions released a limited-edition chapbook anthology of the lyrics and poetry of the SGC alumni entitled The Best of Stain, Volume One.

Stained Glass Confessional has been featured in The Greenline, The Brooklyn Eagle, The Daily News, Time Out, New York and in honor of National Poetry Month 2009 (April), SGC (well more specifically, An Echo, A Stain) garnered a mention by AM-NY as one of the "must-see" poetry events happening in New York City.

Former SGC performers include: Rachel Astarte Piccione, Joe Yoga, Reina Miranda, Tara Betts, Bill Baker, Glennis McMurray, Mike Marcellino, Luis Bernard, James Skidmore, Carrie VanDenburg, Darcie VanHamlin, Jason Madison, Jee Leong Koh, Leland Sundries, Lizzah Lohse, Mike Fiorito, Laurel Kallen, Jessica Reed, Nina Karacosta, and Lawrence Fredericks.

SGC returned to Williamsburg in the summer of 2009 for a foray at Spike Hill but is currently on hiatus as Janice promotes her new book, Tongue for Folie!
